Scout-ing

This is my kitten Scout.

This was taken the first night I got her, I was a little excited as you can see. I named her after Scout in To Kill A Mockingbird, my favorite book. She's so cute, and funny. She spends her day running around my dorm attacking anything that looks at her the wrong way. She attacks things like toilet paper, my bag, the rug, my hand, my computer, and of course my roommate Meg. But fierce as she is, it is to be noted how much she loves a good cuddle. The picture above is how she spends most of her time with me, curled up on my chest sleeping and purring. SO CUTE! She melted my heart.
We went out onto the Quad and took some sweet pictures with our little baby.

Days passed and my love for her only grew stronger and her adoration for her new parents flourished. but this lovefest became threatened as my friend/RA<Resident Assisant> became suspicious at our newly locked door and shifty run-ins with her. For 2 years my roommate and I have wanted a kitten. A desire expressed to anyone and everyone we met and this year we vowed to make it a reality. So when we procured Scout, our friends noticed a shift in our conversations even though we tried to be subtle. We only showed our dear Scout to a privileged few who we thought we could trust. But like with anything that is to good to be true, there was a rat in our midst that confirmed our RA's suspicions.
So just like that Scout's Last Day came and these our some of the memories we captured. My roommate Meg, our friend Ashlee, and I all took Scout for one last outing and to search for her a new home and with great success, sweet Stephanie graciously took her to live 30 mins away. I miss her more every day. For instance, it's been 2 days since we said good-bye and I went to go see The Lion King, in theaters, and all i could think about was how much young Simba reminded me of Scout. I miss you sweet, soft, hilarious kitten.
